From the Husqvarna AxeFactor To The All Ireland Husqvarna Pole Climbers The National Ploughing Championships Is Not To Be Missed
The National Ploughing Championships will take place in Athy Co. Kildare from September 20th-22nd. For the first time in the ploughing championships history the Husqvarna arena, surrounded by Oregon, Aspen and Husqvarna stands will host the Husqvarna Axefactor and the All Ireland Husqvarna Pole Climbing Championships featuring Kevin Birchall MD Treecare Ireland and former World Champion Terry Bennett.
This year, Husqvarna plans to wow the crowds at the National Ploughing Championships with choreographed shows from Irish Axemen and Pole Climbers. Kevin Birchall and his team of experienced Pole Climbers along with former World Champion Pole Climber Terry Bennett will scale two trees which are 30 Metres in height each and 50cm in diameter. The Husqvarna Pole Climbing team will race each other against the clock up the trees with the winner being announced on the final day. The trees being used are being sourced, felled and prepared by Kevin Birchall who is a professional Pole Climber and has traveled throughout Europe setting up Pole Climbing competitions.
The Husqvarna Axefactor is another feast for the eyes where trained Axemen will entertain the crowds with their skill and mastering of the Husqvarna chainsaws. The Axemen have traveled throughout the world since 2007 showcasing their skills and creating masterpieces out of a trees. 2011 will also see them compete in the World championships in Holland.

Last years success of Oregons Powersharp paved the way for Oregon in the Ploughing. Liffey Distributors also deal with Flymo, Partner, McCullough and were established in 1970 by Vincent Brady. Liffey Distributors started in a portacabin on Iona Road in Glasnevin in Dublin with the Oregon brand which manufactures every bar, sprocket and chain for the Husqvarna Group as well as those for manufacturers including Partner, Poulan, McCullough and Jonsered. In 1973, Vincent started working with the Husqvarna Group when he brought the first Husqvarna chainsaw into the country and gave it to his relatives, the Neville's in Limerick to test. That same chainsaw is still working to this day. Liffey Distributors is still run by Vincent and supported by all of his family and employs over 30 staff from a 40,000 sq ft base in Blanchardstown.
